Note: Except for the notice below about my prize in a recent exhibit, this website is sadly out-of-date, for which I humbly apologize. I have been trying to get around to revamping to reduce its webbiness, and to update with my recent work.

Congratulations!  Whether by persistence, sheer luck, or just random chance, you have arrived at the kapajen.com web site, upon which I display my artwork.

This web site shows my paintings, drawings, prints, photos and digital art work.  Click on the navigation bar above to view work classified by media.  The "Process & Procedure" page illustrates how a subject in one medium translates to another medium.

Click here to view my most recent paintings (2004) posted on this site. I have produced additional work since then, but have not yet inserted on the website.

NEWS

News Item #1:

After a long dry spell, I finally won another prize in a competitive exhibit, the Art League's "Figuratively Speaking" in July 2006 - Merit Award - in a field of 172 entries.

News Item #2:

The acrylic painting below, "Childhood Passage," will appear on the back cover of the Art League's calendar for 2007. This painting, one of my favorite works, was based on a photo of my son Patrick at age 10, taken by my daughter Jennifer. Patrick is now 31, and working on his PhD in electrical engineering at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Old Item:

Several years ago I was asked to design the cover for the Art League of Daytona Beach's annual members directory.  Below is the result, a pen and ink drawing of famous artists and their work, digitally photographed in sepia, and then manipulated in the computer.  I'm happy with the finished product.
