Paintings - 2001
2001 might be
called my "Bovine Period." So much so that a friend
threatened to stop talking to me if I did another painting with cows.

"When Pigs
Fly" Acrylic 2001
OK, so this one is not about cows. But browse on ...

"Six Dancers with
Cow" Acrylic 2002
What is the cow doing among the dancers? I have no idea.

"Self-Portrait with
Cows" Acrylic 2002
I previously titled this "An Artist Out Standing in His Field," but I
became afraid it would be taken for boasting, and not a play on words.

"Self-Portrait with
Jumping Cow" Acrylic
2001 (Look closely.)

"Jumping Cow with
Angel" Watercolor 2001
An earlier version of the same idea, in watercolor.

"The Purple
Cow" Acrylic 2001
You've
probably heard this poem: I
never saw a purple cow,
I never hope to see one;
But I can tell you, anyhow,
I'd rather see than be one. Now,
who composed those memorable lines? You probably guessed
Ogden Nash, right? Wrong! The author was Gelett Burgess (1866-1951).
